PTC News Desk: A shocking murder case has come to light in Manesar, where a 25-year-old man is accused of killing his wife just three months after their marriage with the help of his girlfriend, police said. Investigators believe the murder was planned so the couple could continue their relationship.

The case surfaced on May 22 when the victim’s mother filed a complaint at Manesar Police Station. She told police that her 22-year-old daughter had married Ankit, a resident of Manesar, in February.

According to the family, the woman went missing on May 21. Despite searching for her and contacting her in-laws, they could not get any clear information about her whereabouts. Suspecting foul play, the victim’s mother approached the police, who registered a case and began an investigation.

On May 22, police recovered the woman's body from a room in Manesar. Initial investigations revealed that she had been shot dead, after which murder charges were added to the case.

Police later arrested the husband, Ankit, and his 38-year-old girlfriend, Rajni Devi, from Jhajjar district in Haryana. During questioning, investigators found that the two had allegedly been in a relationship for the past three years.

According to police, Ankit and Rajni planned the murder in Rajni’s rented room. On the day of the incident, Ankit allegedly brought his wife there, where the two accused are believed to have shot her dead.

Investigators also claimed that the weapon used in the crime had been purchased from Uttar Pradesh about two months earlier and was allegedly bought specifically to carry out the murder.

After the killing, the accused reportedly fled to Haridwar and later escaped to Nepal. They remained absconding for over a month before returning to India on June 30. Soon after, they were arrested by the Manesar Crime Branch.
