Niranjan Singh 'Nanji', beloved figure among students of Khalsa College, Amritsar, dies at 83
PTC News Desk: Niranjan Singh, fondly known as "Nanji" by generations of students at Khalsa College Amritsar, passed away on Saturday evening at the age of around 83.
For over 50 years, he ran the famous "Niranjan Tea Stall" opposite the college's main gate. Known for its tea, samosas, and omelettes, the stall became a popular hangout spot and a landmark for thousands of students, teachers, and visitors.
Even in his old age, Niranjan Singh continued to work at the stall and remained committed to serving customers until his last days.
People who knew him said he always welcomed everyone with warmth and kindness. More than just a tea seller, "Nanji" shared a close bond with students, often guiding, encouraging, and supporting them like a parent during their college years.
His tea stall was a place where students gathered, friendships were formed, and countless memories were made.
After news of his death spread, tributes poured in on social media, with former students from around the world remembering him fondly and expressing their sorrow. Many described him as an integral part of Khalsa College's identity and praised his humble and caring nature.
