Delhi, Mumbai weather disrupt flight operations, 15 aircrafts diverted; advisory issued
PTC News Desk: Heavy rain and strong winds affected flight operations at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport on Saturday evening, forcing several flights to be diverted to nearby airports.
Airport officials said that 15 flights heading to Delhi were diverted because of bad weather conditions in the national capital.
Delhi experienced a sudden spell of rain and gusty winds on Saturday evening, causing disruptions in air travel.
According to the India Meteorological Department, the city's maximum temperature was 36.8°C, which was one degree below normal, while the minimum temperature was 22.6°C.
Airlines, including Air India, have advised passengers travelling to and from Delhi and Mumbai to check their flight status before leaving for the airport.
In a post on X, Air India said that adverse weather conditions could affect flight operations in both cities.
Passengers have also been advised to leave extra time for their journey, as delays and disruptions are likely to continue due to the weather. Airlines said their teams are helping affected passengers and monitoring the situation closely.
