PTC News Desk: "Please save me."

These were some of the last desperate cries heard from inside a commercial building in Lucknow that was filled with smoke as a massive fire spread through it. The building housed an animation training centre, and the tragedy claimed 15 lives. Most of those who died were young students and professionals studying animation and gaming.

At first, people thought it was a normal fire incident, but it quickly turned into a major disaster. Videos shared on social media showed people hanging from windows, climbing down pipes, and shouting for help while thick black smoke poured out of the upper floors.

By the time firefighters arrived, six fire engines were already at the scene. Flames had spread across several floors, and heavy smoke had filled the building.

Witnesses said heartbreaking screams for help could be heard from inside, making it clear that many people were trapped. As the smoke spread, some students on the upper floors locked themselves inside bathrooms, hoping to stay safe. Others tried to escape through windows.

One of the most shocking moments came when a young man, unable to escape the approaching flames, opened a window and jumped from an upper floor. People watching in horror saw him land on a metal grill below. He was immediately taken to the hospital in critical condition.
