PTC News Desk: A 19-year-old NEET aspirant was found dead in Hyderabad's Miyapur area on Saturday, just a day before the NEET re-examination scheduled for Sunday, police said.

The student, identified as Sheikh Sana, was preparing for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) and was staying with her sisters while studying. Her father, Sheikh Jafar Hussain, is employed in Kuwait, while her mother had travelled to Proddatur about 10 days earlier.

According to preliminary investigations, police believe that academic pressure, family expectations and stress related to previous setbacks may have contributed to her distress. Officials said she allegedly left behind a note in English stating that no one should be held responsible for her death.

After receiving information about the incident, police reached the spot, shifted the body to Gandhi Hospital for postmortem examination and registered a case. Further investigation is underway.

The incident comes amid growing concern over a series of deaths involving NEET aspirants in recent weeks, prompting discussions among parents, educators and mental health experts about the pressures faced by students preparing for competitive examinations.

In a separate case, a 22-year-old NEET aspirant in Ghaziabad was also found dead in his room under the jurisdiction of the Vijay Nagar police station. According to police sources, the student allegedly recorded a video before his death in which he stated that no one was responsible and spoke about his inability to clear the NEET examination despite several attempts.
