UP horror: Woman beheaded, fingers chopped by family over suspected relationship

Woman strangled her, her head hacked off an axe, four of her fingers amputated by family

Uttar Pradesh horror: Violence against woman of the nation is increasing with the each passing day which has become the serious and deeply concerning issue especially in Delhi, NRC and Uttar Pradesh. The violence against woman can take place in various forms including physical, emotional, and economic abuse. 

An uptick in such cases is a serious issue for society and is also raising questions on the law-and-order situation in the nation.

A day after a horrific incident from Uttar Pradesh's Hapur wherein 21-year-old unmarried woman was set on fire allegedly by her family members when they learned that their unmarried daughter was pregnant, another horrific, unsettling and dreadful incident came to limelight on Saturday from where a woman was beheaded, fingers chopped and teeth crushed by husband and son over suspected relationship in Uttar Pradesh’s Banda district. 

The Uttar Pradesh Police on Friday discovered decapitated body of woman with four of her fingers missing in Chamraha village. 

The heart-wrenching incident unfolded on Friday wherein a victim identified as Maya Devi aged about 30-35 years, a native of Pahra village in Madhya Pradesh's Chhatarpur district was found beheaded, partially clothed, four of her fingers missing , hairs cut off and teeth crushed to conceal her identity.


After the search operation conducted by Uttar Pradesh Police, Maya Devi’s head was found at some distance away from her body. 

Meanwhile, after conducting the preliminary investigation, police designated the family members as suspects for conducting the murder. 

During the interrogation, Ram Kumar, the husband, his sons Suraj Prakash and Brijesh, and nephew Udaibhan admitted to plotting the woman's murder. 

According to the Ram Kumar’s testimony, Maya Devi was his second wife and had an illicit relationship with one of his son.

Infuriated, husband and sons dragged Maya Devi to Chamraha village, strangled her, and hacked off her head with an axe. Four of her fingers were also amputated. The Uttar Pradesh's police were able to solve the case within 24 hours.
