Election Commission issues a notification for the formation of a new Assembly in West Bengal after election results; BJP wins 207 seats, ending TMC's 15-year rule
PTC Web Desk: The Election Commission has issued an official notification for the formation of a new Assembly in West Bengal after the completion of the election process.
The notification has been sent to the Governor, which is an important step before the new government is formed. Officials said this comes after the final results of the Assembly elections were declared.
A senior Election Commission official said with this step, the commission’s role in the election process is now complete. He added that all procedures were followed properly during voting and counting.
“The elections were conducted in a free and fair manner as per rules,” the official said.
This notification now clears the way for newly elected MLAs to take oath and for the formation of the new government in the state.
In the results, the BJP won a big victory by securing 207 seats out of 294. This result has ended the 15-year rule of the Trinamool Congress in West Bengal.
