PTC Web Desk: A major mishap was averted after a fire broke out at the historic Gurdwara Shaheed Ganj Sahib, popularly known as Shaheedan Sahib, in Amritsar on Wednesday. The incident created panic after decorative cloth canopies caught fire allegedly due to a short circuit.
According to information, the blaze erupted suddenly in the canopies installed inside the gurdwara complex. As the cloth material quickly caught fire, flames began spreading rapidly, leading to chaos and fear among devotees present at the site.
However, the timely response of sewadars and sangat helped prevent a major tragedy. Witnesses said that volunteers and devotees immediately began efforts to extinguish the fire using buckets of water and pipes.
