PTC News Desk: Two youths while on their way to hospital were shot at by a group of unidentified assailants, killing one of them on the spot while critically inuring the another.

The preliminary investigation suggests that the dispute stems from an argument that took place on June 11. The SHO of Bhargav Camp police station, who reached the scene, said that five to seven attackers were involved. Some of the suspects have already been identified and are expected to be arrested soon.

According to eyewitnesses, the dispute began on June 11 when Rahul, alias Kalu, and his associates allegedly assaulted Simarjeet Singh, also known as Pappu, over a disagreement. Simarjeet, 24, worked as an electrician. On June 12, while his family and friends were taking him to the hospital for treatment, the attackers allegedly intercepted them on the way.

Eyewitnesses said that Gullu and his associates were already waiting in ambush. They stopped the victims and opened fire indiscriminately.

Simarjeet Singh was the first to be hit by a bullet. He was rushed to the Civil Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The attackers then targeted another young man, Rajveer, 23, who was present at the scene. After carrying out the attack, the accused fled.

After receiving information about the incident, Bhargav Camp SHO Rajinder Singh arrived at the scene with a police team. Officers inspected the area and ensured that the injured were admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment. An Assistant Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) also visited the scene briefly after the incident. However, despite the shooting occurring within his jurisdiction, he reportedly avoided commenting on the case.
