Suicide bomb threat in Ludhiana: Nearly three weeks after a bomb threat email targeting the Ludhiana Mayor’s office and Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh’s residence, fresh panic swept through the city on Wednesday after the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation and the Deputy Commissioner’s office received another threatening email warning of a suicide bomb attack.
According to officials, the email was sent from the address lucymeta@gmail.com to the official email accounts of the Municipal Corporation Commissioner and the Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana. The sender claimed that explosions would take place at the Mayor’s office, the Municipal Corporation headquarters and the DC office.
The email specifically mentioned that a blast would occur at the Mayor’s office at 2:11 pm, while another explosion was allegedly planned at railway tracks earlier in the day. The sender also referred to a “human bomb” or suicide bomber, claiming that attacks would be carried out in a manner similar to the assassination of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh.
The threatening message further contained references to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, making alarming claims against both leaders.
Following the alert, security agencies swung into action. Police teams conducted extensive searches of the Municipal Corporation building, the Deputy Commissioner’s office and other sensitive locations. However, no suspicious object or explosive material was found during the inspections.
Meanwhile, cyber crime experts and intelligence agencies have launched a detailed investigation to trace the origin of the email.
