Tarn Taran tragedy: A tragic incident has shocked Punjab's Tarn Taran district after two young brothers died under mysterious circumstances at Raniwala village. The police have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the deaths.
The deceased have been identified as Gurnishan Singh (7) and Gurdan Singh (18 months), sons of Sarjeet Singh, a resident of Raniwala village.

Children fell ill after family dinner
According to preliminary information, the family had dinner at home on the night of July 13. Shortly after the meal, several family members reportedly began experiencing health complications. The children were initially given medical treatment, but as their condition worsened, they were rushed to a hospital.
Seven-year-old Gurnishan Singh died before reaching the hospital, while his younger brother, Gurdan Singh, succumbed during treatment the following day.
Poisoning suspected, cause yet to be confirmed
Initial findings have raised the possibility that the food may have been contaminated or contained a toxic substance. However, officials have not confirmed the exact cause of death.
The police said the remaining family members, who also fell ill after the meal, are now reported to be in stable condition.

Police await medical and post-mortem reports
After receiving information about the incident, a team from Chohla Sahib Police Station reached the village and began an investigation.
The police said while poisoning is one of the suspected causes, he stressed that the actual reason behind the deaths will only be known after the medical examination and post-mortem reports are received.
