Keeping in view the Covid-19 situation in Amritsar, District Magistrate Gurpreet Singh Khaira has issued fresh guidelines for the district.
According to the order, restrictions will remain imposed from October 1 to 15. "Only those passengers who are fully vaccinated or Covid-19 recovered, or those with RT-PCR negative report of the last 72 hours shall be allowed entry," states the order.

"Passengers travelling by flights shall be required to be fully vaccinated, or Covid recovered or with RT-PCR negative report of last 72 hours," the order added.
A gathering of only 300 persons is allowed indoor and 500 outdoor, subject to the upper limit of 50 per cent of the capacity. "Artistes and musicians shall be allowed at such functions provided they follow Covid protocols," the order adds.
The organisers of any event will have to ensure that the staff is either fully vaccinated or at least have had one dose of the jab over four weeks ago.
All bars, hotels, cinema halls, restaurants and spas shall be allowed to operate with 50 per cent capacity subject to the staff being either fully vaccinated or at least have had one dose of the vaccine over four weeks ago.

All schools and colleges will remain open. "Hostels are allowed to open subject to adherence to strict guidelines issued by the Department of Health and Family Welfare," says the order.
All government employees will be asked to get themselves vaccinated within the next 15 days. Any violation shall be punishable under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
