Punjab Government issues new guidelines for Unlock 3

Unlock 3 guidelines have been issued by Girish Dayalan, IAS, District Magistrate, in continuation of order dated 31.7.2020, in exercise of powers conferred under Section 144.

The Government has hereby issued the additional restrictions within municipal limits of all the cities of the District w.e.f. 18th August, 2020 till further orders.

Night Curfew

Movement of individuals for all the non-essential activities shall remain prohibited between 9.00 pm to 5.00 am within municipal limits of all the cities of the District.

However, essential activities including operation of multiple shifts, movement of persons and goods on National and State Highways and unloading of cargo and travel of persons to their destinations after disembarking from buses, trains and aeroplanes will be permitted.

Similarly, all industries running into 2-3 shifts will also remain open.

Restrictions on timings

Restaurants, Hotels and other Hospitality Units will be open till 8:30 pm. Shops and shopping Malls will be allowed till 8:00 pm. Restaurants/Hotels situated within shopping malls will be open till 8:30 pm. Liquor vends are allowed till 8:30 pm.

Any violation of these guidelines and lockdown measures shall be punishable under sections 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005. And legal action under section 188 of Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Most Importantly, Ludhiana, Patiala and Jalandhar will see a 2- day lockdown on Saturday and Sunday.
