'Big conspiracy against Priyanka Gandhi': Ex-Congress leader as Rahul Gandhi files nomination from Raebareli
PTC News Desk: Former Congress leader Pramod Krishnam made a startling claim on Saturday, saying that there is a big conspiracy going on in the party against Priyanka Gandhi. His remarks come a day after Rahul Gandhi filed his nomination from Raebareli for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
Notably, the grand old party fielded Rahul Gandhi from Raebareli and party loyalist KL Sharma from Amethi on Friday, excluding Priyanka Gandhi from the election.
Krishnam claimed that Priyanka Gandhi is the victim of a conspiracy within the party. "I had already stated that Rahul Gandhi will not allow Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to run for election... Priyanka Gandhi is the target of a massive conspiracy within her family and party," said Acharya Pramod Krishnam.
According to Krishnam, if Rahul did not want to run in Amethi, he could have run against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Varanasi.
"The way Rahul Gandhi left Amethi has lowered the morale of Congress party workers. Priyanka Gandhi's decision not to run for election has created a volcano in the hearts of her supporters, which will erupt after June 4. The Congress will once again be divided into two factions, one led by Rahul Gandhi and the other by Priyanka Gandhi," he said.
"I think Rahul Gandhi should contest from Rawalpindi instead of Raebareli, as his popularity and demand are increasing in Pakistan," the former Congress leader added.
Rahul Gandhi will fight against BJP candidate Dinesh Pratap Singh in Raebareli, while Congress candidate KL Sharma will face Union Minister Smriti Irani in Amethi Lok Sabha constituency.
Rahul currently represents Wayanad in the Lok Sabha, while Smriti Irani is seeking a new term from Amethi. Raebareli was held by Sonia Gandhi, who later became a member of the Rajya Sabha.
