Amritsar Police bust drug trafficking network; 3kg heroine recovered five arrested
According to police, the initial investigation suggests that the arrested accused were involved in supplying illegal weapons and drugs.
PTC News Desk: Amritsar Commissionerate Police has busted three networks involved in drug trafficking and the supply of illegal weapons. Five people have been arrested in the operation. Police recovered 13 pistols, 3.267 kg of heroin and 22 cartridges from their possession.
According to police, the initial investigation suggests that the arrested accused were involved in supplying illegal weapons and drugs. Police are now working to identify other people linked to the networks and are investigating where the accused obtained the weapons and heroin.
Police questioning accused to uncover the entire network
Separate FIRs have been registered at D-Division and Chheharta police stations in Amritsar. Police are questioning the arrested accused to gather information about the wider network. Investigators are also examining the possible role of handlers based abroad.
Police said further action will be taken against others found to be involved in the network.
Backward and forward links being investigated
The Commissionerate Police said its aim is to dismantle the entire network involved in drug trafficking and illegal weapons supply. Officials are examining the backward and forward links of the accused to identify other people connected to the illegal trade.
