Gunshots fired at Punjab singer Gulab Sidhus ancestral house in Barnala; Doni Bal claims responsibility

PTC News Desk: A firing incident was reported from Barnala where Punjabi singer Gulab Sidhu's ancestral house was targeted late Saturday night. 

CCTV footage of the attack has gone viral on social media. In one such video, three assailants are seen riding a bike. The driver appears to be recording the incident, while the other two are seen opening fire with their left hands.

According to information, the incident took place between 1 am and 2 am, during which around seven to eight rounds were fired. Several bullets hit the gate of the house. However, no one was injured in the incident.

CCTV footage shows three youths stopping their motorcycle near the house. The youth sitting in the middle can be seen loading his pistol before opening fire. The youth sitting behind him also fired shots, while the third youth, who was riding the motorcycle, recorded a video.

It is worth mentioning that some time ago, singer Gulab Sidhu had allegedly received extortion and death threats from some individuals. However, the singer was not present at home when the firing took place. According to his family, he is currently abroad for music shows and events.

Earlier, on January 10, 2026, Barnala Police arrested three accused for allegedly attempting to attack singer Gulab Sidhu. The alleged main conspirator was Baljinder Singh (Kinda), the sarpanch of Kotduna village.

Police begin investigation

As soon as the police were informed about the incident, Sadar Police reached the spot and inspected the area. Police officials confirmed that firing had taken place.

The police are examining CCTV cameras installed in nearby streets and on the main roads of the village. Officials said the case is being investigated from all angles. After collecting forensic evidence, strict legal action will be taken against the unidentified attackers.
