SAD flays Centre for denying permission to protest march on September 17

The Union Government has reportedly denied permission to the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) to hold a protest march from Gurdwara Rakabganj, New Delhi, to Parliament on September 17, demanding the repeal of the three farm laws.

The SAD had planned a march on September 17 and observe the day as 'black day' to mark one year of enactment of the three farm laws. Party workers, alongside farmers, are supposed to hold a protest march from Gurdwara Rakabganj in Delhi to Parliament.

In a statement issued on Thursday, senior SAD leader Daljit Singh Cheema has condemned the Union Government for denying permission to the protest march and reiterated that a peaceful march would be held as planned. He described the step as democratic.
