Southwest monsoon withdraws from Punjab, other northern parts

Chandigarh, September 29: The Southwest monsoon has been withdrawn from entire Punjab & Chandigarh and most part of Haryana (except distt of Gurbgaon, Faridabad and Mewat)  and entire Delhi, as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The monsoon line also passed through some parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, West Uttar Pradesh and some more parts of Rajasthan. Also Read: Punjab Vidhan Sabha Assembly Day 2: Congress MLAs create ruckus; House adjourned for 30 min   The withdrawal line of Southwest Monsoon also passes through Jammu, Una, Chandigarh, Karnal, Baghpat, Delhi, Alwar, Jodhpur and Nalia. Withdrawal-of-southwest-monsoon-3 The monsoon arrived in northern parts on June 30 when the IMD declared its onset. Delhi has so far this season recorded 516.9 mm of rainfall, 19 per cent short of the normal of 639.7 mm. Meanwhile, heavy rains continue to lash several states across the country, including Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Delhi. Since last week, several states have been experiencing constant rain, causing a drop in temperature. -PTC News
