Women U20 Wrestlers: Rousing reception after successful world championships campaign

Women U20 Wrestlers: Women wrestlers, who showcased exceptional performances at the U20 World Wrestling Championships, returned to a triumphant reception at the Delhi airport on Sunday. Antim Panghal, a gold medalist, and the team's chief coach, Maha Singh, were among those who arrived.


Speaking to ANI, Coach Maha Singh said, "The tournament was incredible, with world-class wrestlers from around the globe. India demonstrated its wrestling prowess and is on the path to becoming the top-ranked nation in the sport. This achievement is attributed to the motivation and blessings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur. Our women wrestlers secured an impressive tally of seven medals — three gold, one silver, and three bronze."

Antim Panghal, victorious in the women's 53 kg category, expressed her delight in clinching the top honor once again, having previously won it in the last edition of the championship.

She added, "Now I will focus on preparing for the Asian Games and the World Championships."

With a participation of 30 Indian wrestlers, the championships hosted by Olympics.com saw India accumulating a total of 13 medals, including four gold, two silver, and seven bronze medals. Notable winners include:
