SYL Canal Issue : SC directs Punjab, Haryana, Centre government to hold a joint meeting

The Supreme Court on Tuesday has directed Punjab, Haryana and the Central government to conduct the meeting over the construction of Sutlej Yamuna Link Canal (SYL Canal) issue. The honourable Court said Punjab, Haryana and the Central Government should make dicussion on following the Supreme Court orders. Also, the Supreme Court has given the next hearing date on September 3.

SYL Canal Link is a proposed 214-km long canal in India which will connect Sutlej and Yamuna rivers. However the matter was referred to the Supreme Court, which defines the water sharing between the states of Punjab and Haryana.
