Three Killed, 10 Injured as Hoarding Frame Falls on Vehicles in Pune

Three people were killed while 10 people sustained serious injuries when a huge hoarding with its Iron Frame fell on vehicles in Pune on Friday.

A 40 feet high hoarding was being installed in the Central Railways premises in the heart of the city. It was mounted with an iron frame that falls on the vehicles.

Around 2 pm, the contractor was dismantling the hoarding. While dismantling it, the metal structure fell on the roadside on the auto-rickshaws and two-wheelers near a traffic signal. The huge structure collapsed on the vehicles killing 3 people on the spot and injuring 10 people.

The injured people were rushed to the nearby government hospital.

The deceased were identified as Shamrao Kasar (70); Shamrao Dhotre (48); and Shivaji Pardeshi (40).

An FIR has been registered under relevant sections of the IPC, following which the police is looking into the matter.

In this accident, one moped, one-four-wheeler, and five autorickshaws were damaged.
