Tokyo Olympics 2020: Indian Hockey team makes an impressive comeback, defeats Spain by 2-0

Tokyo Olympics 2020, India vs Spain Hockey: After a tough loss against Australia, India made a come back with a 3-0 win against Spain. With the latest win, India climbs up to the 2nd spot in the Pool A table.

Simranjeet Singh smashed the 1st goal after coming in for the 1st time while Rupinder Pal Singh scored a penalty stroke and from a penalty corner.

Now, India is just 3 points behind the 1st placed Australia, which has won all of its matches. This is the second win for India in 3 matches after it won its opening fixture against New Zealand 3-2.

In the first quarter, India took the lead after Simranjeet Singh hammered a goal. Soon after Rupinder Pal Singh scored as well. India was leading 2-0 by the end of the first quarter.

No goals were scored in the second and third quarters, however, Spain was making attacking moves which India had a tough task in holding them off.

Besides India vs Spain, the Hockey match, India is off to a good start to Day 4 of the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Indian badminton duo of Satwiksairaj and Chirag Shetty, paddler Sharath Kamal defeated Great Britain's S Vendy and B Lane, however, they failed to qualify for the quarterfinals.
