With COVID-19 precautions in place, Hemkund Sahib to open again

After the Unlock 3 guidelines issued by the Central government, the Uttarakhand government has decided to reopen the Holy pilgrimage of Sikhs, Hemkund Sahib & Lokpal Laxman Temple for the devotees at 4:00 am on September 4.

Holy pilgrimage centers of Sikhs, Hemkund Sahib & Lokpal Laxman Temple will be opened for devotees at 4:00 am on September 4, 2020.

Issuing the guidelines, Chamoli DM Swati S Bhadoria announced that the holy pilgrimage centers of Sikhs, Hemkund Sahib and Lokpal Laxman Temple will be opened from September 4.

She also added that, "the district administration and the Gurdwara Management Committee have completed all arrangements for the reopening of the temples."

The development comes at a time when the coronavirus tally in the state went up to 12,961 on 18th August with 497 more people testing positive. The state also on Tuesday witnessed six more deaths, taking the total death toll to 164.
