Philadelphia (US), November 6: At least 12 people were shot outside a bar in Philadelphia's Kensington section on Saturday night (local time).

According to sources, the shooting incident took place on Saturday night in the area of East Allegheny and Kensington avenues, reported Philadelphia local news - 6 ABC.

There is no immediate word on the victims' conditions, and it is still unclear what prompted the shooting.

Earlier, US Vice President Joe Biden expressed his grief over the recent gun violence in Raleigh, North Carolina, which killed five people and injured two.

"Enough. We've grieved and prayed with too many families who have had to bear the terrible burden of these mass shootings," Biden said.

Condemning mass shootings in America, he stated that there is so much gun violence that many killings no longer make the news.

The United States must impose strict gun controls and severely limit who can buy or own a weapon. In this regard, American laws are far too lax and lenient.

Meanwhile, earlier, a US federal judge temporarily halted key provisions of a new New York law governing gun licencing.

Judge Glenn T Suddaby of the US District Court for the Northern District of New York added that the state has "further reduced a first-class constitutional right to bear arms in public for self-defence" into a mere "request."

He further stated that several law provisions had no historical justification, a controversial requirement put forward by the high court last spring, reported CNN.
