Anganwadi Union president killed in Amritsar

Amritsar, August 30: In a recent murder case, President of Anganwadi Union has been murdered by unidentified people in Baharwal village of Amritsar.

The president of Anganwadi Union has been identified as Bibi Paramjit Kaur. She was Anganwadi Union Chogawa and a member of Anganwadi Union Amritsar, had been working for these unions for 20 years.

As per the statement by her son Kuldeep Singh, he stated that his mother Paramjit Kaur was alone at the home when the murder took place.

Some unidentified people attacked her with sharp weapons and seriously injured her. When people gathered on hearing the noise, the attackers fled taking advantage of the darkness.

The police reached the spot as soon as they received the information about the murder. The investigation in the case is still underway.

As soon as the incident took place, Paramjit Kaur was taken to the hospital but was declared dead.

Meanwhile, former minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal also expressed her grief over murder of Aganwadi Union leader and wrote, “Deeply shocked at the murder of Anganwari Union leader from Amritsar Bibi ParamjitKaur. This confirms total collapse of law & order situation in Punjab.While expressing my condolences to the bereaved family, I ask @BhagwantMann to admit that women are no longer safe in the state.”
