Assembly elections 2022 Highlights: The Assembly elections 2022 are due in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Manipur, Punjab, and Uttarakhand. While few parties are yet to announce their candidates, fielded ones across these five states are filing their nominations from their respective constituencies.
In Punjab, more than six national and local parties are fighting Punjab Assembly elections 2022. Shiromani Akali Dal’s senior leader Bikram Singh Majithia has been fielded by the party from Amritsar East seat against Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu.

Earlier, Majithia also filed his nomination papers from Majitha constituency, from where he is the sitting MLA. He will fight the elections from both Amritsar East and Majitha assembly seats.

Ahead of Uttarakhand elections 2022, a total of 755 candidates have filed nominations for 70 assembly seats, informed State Election Office. On the other hand, as many as 587 candidates have filed their nominations for the 40 assembly seats in Goa.
