Authorities seize 19 mobiles from Patiala Central Jail
Patiala, August 7: In a special search operation, the officials in the Patiala Central Jail recovered 19 hidden mobile phones on Sunday.
The mobiles were reportedly hidden in the wall and floors by digging holes.
Giving information about the same, Punjab Jails Minister Harjot Singh Bains on Sunday tweeted, "In a spl. search operation today in Patiala Central Jail 19 mobiles have been recovered, they were hidden by digging holes in walls and floor. Good job by Officers & Staff of Central Jail Patiala."
"We are committed to make our Jails Drug Free & Mobile Free," he added.

The Central Jail officers reportedly found many phones during a three-hour special inspection on Sunday morning. Interestingly, all mobile phones had keypads, according to jail superintendent Manjit Singh Tiwana, and no smartphone was found.
According to the jail superintendent, authorities have started an investigation into the matter and are trying to determine who was using these phones and who they were communicating with.
