Bank Holidays in May 2021: Banks across the country will remain closed for up to 12 days in several cities in May 2021. These holidays in banks include weekends and festivals. As per the RBI guidelines, the banks will remain closed on public holidays while several holidays vary from state to state and only the gazetted holidays were observed by the banks across the country. The gazetted holidays include Republic Day (January 26), Independence Day (August 15), Gandhi Jayanti (October 2), Christmas Day (December 25) while festivals like Diwali, Christmas, Eid, Guru Nanak Jayanthi, Good Friday are also bank holidays. As per the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the banks in several states will remain closed on May 14, 2021, on account of Eid-UI-Fitra.
