Kings XI Punjab co-owner Ness Wadia sent a proposal to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to play the national anthem of India before the start of every match in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. Wadia said, "I have been proposing it for a while now. I have written to BCCI President Sourav Ganguly to consider the proposal." Adding, he said "When I spoke to BCCI President Sourav Ganguly on the proposal. He said please send it to me and we'll consider it. The domestic tournament will commence on April 29, 2020. Meanwhile, Kings XI Punjab has named former Indian skipper Anil Kumble as head coach. Also, the former Australian batsman and KXIP skipper, George Bailey has been appointed as batting coach. Likewise, ex-India spinner Sunil Joshi has been named as assistant coach to Kings XI also known as Lions Den.
