Bangladesh Train Mishap: 15 killed, 100 injured after freight train and passenger train collide in Bangladesh
Bangladesh Train Mishap: In horrific, unfortunate and terrible accident, at least 15 people were killed and 100 others injured on Monday when a passenger train collided with a container train at Bhairab, about 80 kilometres (50 miles) from capital Dhaka.
The horrific accident unfolded when the passenger train headed from Kishoreganj and freight train from Chattogram headed to Dhaka around 4:15 pm on Monday.
Firefighter Rasel from Bhairab Bazar Fire Station confirmed the incident, which caused damage to two rear coaches of the Egarosindhur Godhuli train.
Witnesses reported individuals trapped under the train, while Bhairab Station Master Yusuf stated that the death toll is likely to rise.
Rail connectivity from Dhaka to Chittagong, Sylhet, and Kishoreganj has been suspended, and rescue efforts by police and fire service personnel are ongoing at the scene
