PTC News Desk: The Chandigarh police has registered a case against fiver persons for allegedly duping a youth of Rs 8.22 lakh in the backdrop of selling him 98 tickets for Diljit Dosanjh's concert held in December at sector 34 last year.
The police have registered the FIR on the complaint of Sanskar Rawat, 21, a resident of Zirakpur.
Rawat alleged that he was introduced to the scam by his friend Parv Kumar. Parv claimed that he was part of a group selling official tickets for Dosanjh’s concert. He promised to provide 98 tickets, including 17 Fan Pit, 3 Silver, and 78 Gold tickets, to Rawat.
Parv later introduced Rawat to Vardaan Mann, who assured him that the tickets would be delivered by December 11. Trusting Mann’s promise, Rawat transferred about Rs 7 lakh to him. He also sent Rs 43,000 to Akshdeep Singh, Rs 44,500 to Vineet Paul and Rs 2,000 to Rohan Singh.
Despite the payment, Rawat did not receive the tickets and the accused kept making excuses and failed to reach the complainant. Rawat kept paying the amount only to eventually get scammed after receiving fake tickets. Rawat also alleged that he was constantly shown fake emails to make him believe that the tickets were real.
