Chandigarh Residents Will Soon Scan QR Code To Pay Water, Power Bills In order to make paying bills easy for the residents of Chandigarh, the UT Administration is soon going to implement a QR code-based payment system for payments. So far, the city residents had two options to pay their water and electricity bills — in cash or through debit/credit card at Sampark centre or online. QR codes will be displayed at different Sampark centres. All that the consumer will have to do is to first download a mobile app and then scan the QR code. Then, the app user will have to enter the account number against which the payment is to be made, the amount to be paid and the secret code.The amount will automatically be deducted from the linked bank account. The system would help one make the payment without cash or debit/credit card. -PTC News
