Chandigarh: Woman found hanging from tree in Sector 9 house A 24-year-old woman was found hanging from a tree under mysterious circumstances at a house in Sector 9 in the early hours of Friday. Family members of Jyoti held her husband Bhupinder Singh responsible for her death. Both used to live in the house as caretakers. Jyoti and Bhupinder got married around four years back. Bhupinder used to beat her for more dowry, family members alleged. Police control room received information about the alleged suicide from Bhupinder around 3 am. Police said Jyoti was found hanging from the tree with a dupatta in the backyard of the house. No suicide note was recovered from the house. The exact cause of death would only be known after the post-mortem report, police said. The body has been kept at the mortuary in Government Multi-specialty Hospital, Sector 16, for post-mortem.
