Chhath Puja 2022:
Muhurat and Puja timing: Chhath Puja is dedicated to Sun God 'Surya'. It is celebrated on the sixth day of 'Kartik Shukla' or six days after the festival of Diwali.
Devotees worship Sun God and Goddess Chhathi during Chhath Puja. The festival is celebrated with great pomp and show in the states of Bihar, Jharkhand and eastern Uttar Pradesh in northern India.
The Hindu community believes that sun heals several health conditions. On Chhath Puja, devotees "detoxify" their bodies by exposing it to the sun. It is also believed that Chhath Puja helps preparing the body for the winter season.
