Cong capturing booths with help of local administration, alleges Badal Former Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal on Wednesday alleged that they were getting reports of booth-capturing by the Congress workers from some places in the state with the collusion of the local administration.

Badal also visited Killianwali village, where a large number of Congress workers were allegedly present holding sticks. Badal said he was in touch with the DGP and other senior police officers, but the SSP was not taking his phone calls.

Former SAD minister Sikander Singh Maluka, along with SAD workers, staged a protest on the Barnala-Bajakhana road alleging the misuse of official machinery by the Congress in Rampura constituency and alleged booth-capturing at Kangar village.


The voting commenced at 8 am and will continue till 4 pm, officials said. A total of 354 zila parishad members and 2,900 panchayat samiti members were going to be elected in these polls, they added.
