Kotkapura, March 29: Former PPCC chief Navjot Singh Sidhu has once again surfaced after lying low post the poll debacle in the state. Ahead of the naming of the new Congress head in the state, the senior Congress leader landed up in Behbal Kalan village and join the protest by the families of victims killed in the 2015 police firing incidents.

Some formal Congress MLAs also accompanied Sidhu to the Behbal Kalan protest.

Getting proactive, Navjot Sidhu targeted the newly-elected Aam Aadmi Party government in the state over the delay in justice to the families.

Sukhraj Singh, the son of Krishan Bhagwan Singh, started an indefinite dharna on December 16, 2021, against the government's failure to bring justice, stating that he would expose political parties in the state. Parties had been exploiting the Behbal Kalan and Kotkapura police fire incidents and sacrilege cases as a political tool to exploit religious sentiments and gain power for the past six years, he alleged.

In order to remain politically relevant, Sidhu met with former party MLAs in Ludhiana earlier in the day to strategize on the issues to be brought up against the AAP government.

This was the third meeting with Congress leaders before they moved towards Behbal Kalan to join the protest.
