Congress student wing NSUI wins top two posts in Delhi University Elections
NSUI has made a comeback in Delhi university elections by winning the president and vice-president’s posts, becoming a huge boost to the Congress.
Joint secretary and secretary posts were won by RSS-backed ABVP.
The main contestants for the DUSU presidential post were ABVP's Rajat Choudhary, NSUI's Rocky Tusheed, AISA's Parul Chauha, independent candidates Raja Choudury and Alka.
There were 126 ballot boxes for the DUSU panel and eight were taken for counting in each round.
Representatives of major students political outfits were present outside the counting centre.
A total of 43 per cent turnout was recorded in the DUSU elections held yesterday. Last year, the ABVP bagged three posts while NSUI won the post of joint secretary.
