UT adviser Manoj Parida declares two new containment zones in Chandigarh

While coronavirus cases have been rising in the city, the UT adviser Manoj Parida has declared two new containment zones in Chandigarh. As per the study and analysis by a committee comprising Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, District Magistrate, Senior Superintended of Police and Director Health Services, it has been considered that the following zones need to be declared as Containment Zone for intensive screening, sanitization, and medical treatment.

  • Six houses (320, 321, 321B, 325, 327/1, 327/3) in Pipliwala town, Manimajra
  • The top floor of 106-C Block of EWS Colony, Dhanas
Manoj Parida had earlier stated that keeping in view the increase in the number of cases, 3 new micro-containment zones were under consideration. Chandigarh on Sunday reported the 19th coronavirus death after a 63-year-old man, a resident of the Bapu Dham Colony, succumbed to the pandemic.
