Confirmed coronavirus cases in India surge to 125

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday stated that the total number of confirmed coronavirus (COVID 19) cases in India has climbed to 125. Maharashtra has reported 39 cases so far, the highest in the country. Trailing Kerala has reported 24 cases out of which 3 people have been cured. Meanwhile, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh have witnessed 14 and 13 cases, respectively.

Everyone NEED NOT to WEAR a mask!

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday issued guidelines on the use of masks by the public. In an advisory, one should only wear a mask if he/she has symptoms (Cough, fever or difficulty in breathing) or he/she is caring for a COVID 19 suspect/confirmed patient. In the meanwhile, those should wear mask who is a health-worker and attending patients with respiratory symptoms.

Students advised staying at home

The Ministry of Health was quoted by news agency ANI as saying: "All educational establishments (schools, universities, etc), gyms, museums, cultural and social centers, swimming pools and theatres to remain closed till March 31. Students should be advised to stay at home. Online education to be promoted." It added that "Non-essential travel should be avoided. Buses, Trains and flights to maximize social distancing in public transport besides ensuring regular and proper disinfection of surfaces."
