Punjab tally rises to 284 after Amritsar, Mohali, Jalandhar report new cases

The total number of coronavirus cases in Punjab has increased to 284 after new cases were reported from Patiala, Amritsar, Mohali and Jalandhar. According to the media bulletin issued by the Punjab Health Department, a total of 18 new cases have been reported from the Patiala district. All of them are the contact of coronavirus positive person. Likewise, Jalandhar reported 6 new cases taking the district tally to 59, the second-highest in the state. Mohali reported another positive case on Thursday taking the district total to 63 out of which 14 have been cured and 2 have died. Mohali has reported the highest number of coronavirus cases in the state so far. Meanwhile, Patiala is on the third spot with 49 cases out of which just one has been able to cure. Pathankot has reported 24 cases so far. Meanwhile, the death toll in the state has increased to 17 after a new death was reported from Phagwara in Kapurthala.
