Embassy of India in UAE celebrates 550th Birth Anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji [PHOTOS]
This Embassy of India in UAE, celebrated the 550th Birth Anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji which commenced on November 12. Painting exhibition, shabad-kirtan, cultural programmes by students and members of the community and seminars and speeches by eminent scholars on the life and teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji were held at Guru Nanak Darbar Gurudwara in Dubai.
Minister of State for Tolerance of the UAE, Sheikha Lubna Al Qassimi inaugurated the painting exhibition on life and teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji on November 12. Afterwards, the Ambassador Pavan Kapoor joined the celebrations of 550th Prakash Purab at Guru Nanak Darbar Gurudwara Dubai on November 13. The Ambassador took a tour of the painting exhibition and addressed the gathering.
On November 18, a programme was organized at the Embassy Auditorium to mark the celebrations of the 550th Birth Anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji. Meanwhile, Saleh Ali Al Maazi, Section Head, Tolerance and National Identity from the Department of Community Development, Abu Dhabi was the Guest of the Honor for the event.
Ambassador Pavan Kapoor, in his remarks at the gathering, highlighted the values preached and practiced by Guru Nanak Dev ji throughout his life and their relevance for our society. Also, Dr. Charandeep Kaur, a scholar of Gurmat studies spoke on teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji. Meanwhile, Commemorative postal stamps were issued by India Post marking the 550th Birth Anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji, were released by the Ambassador along-with Mr. Saleh Ali Al Maazi.

Also, the Ambassador presented books on the Sikhism to Shri S S Kandhari, Chairman, Guru Nanak Darbar Gurudwara Dubai for their library. The programme concluded with screening of a short video “Gurbani Shabad – Allah Pakan Pak Hai” by Emirati Singer Yasser Habib.
