PTC Web Desk: Bollywood actress Ruchi Gujjar made a powerful statement on the red carpet at the 78th Cannes Film Festival 2025, not just with her fashion, but with a striking tribute to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The highlight of her look? A custom-made necklace featuring PM Modi’s image—an unprecedented move that left the global audience buzzing.
Calling the piece “more than just jewellery,” Ruchi described it as “a symbol of strength, vision, and India’s global rise.”
“Wearing it at Cannes was my way of paying homage to our Prime Minister, whose leadership has reshaped India's presence on the international stage,” she said in a press statement.
Ruchi’s look was a majestic fusion of patriotism and culture. Styled in a resplendent gold lehenga by designer Roopa Sharma, the outfit featured intricate mirror work, Gota Patti, and embroidery, deeply inspired by the grandeur of Jaipur’s royal heritage. She completed the ensemble with a handcrafted Bandhani dupatta designed by Ram of Zaribari, embellished with Zardozi and Gota Patti, evoking the rich soul of Rajasthani tradition.
“Wearing this dupatta felt like I was draping the very spirit of Rajasthan,” she expressed.
While her attire was a visual ode to Indian craftsmanship, it was the PM Modi necklace that truly captured attention. Designed with traditional Rajasthani motifs, the necklace was both bold and symbolic.
“PM Modi has transformed India’s image on the world map. By wearing this, I carried that pride with me. Representing India and Rajasthan at Cannes is not just a personal achievement—it’s a message to the world about our identity,” Ruchi stated.
