Celina Jaitly accuses husband of domestic abuse, seeks Rs 50-crore redress
PTC News Desk: Bollywood actress Celina Jaitley has accused her husband, Peter Haag of domestic violence and sought Rs 50 crore for loss of earnings due to him. Jaitly and Haag got married in 2010 and have three children -- Winston, Viraaj and Arthur.
Jaitly, known for her roles in films such as No Entry, Apna Sapna Money Money, Money Hai Toh Honey Hai, Golmaal Returns, and Thank You, filed a petition in a Mumbai court on November 21. Following this, the court issued a notice to Haag, an Austrian businessman and hotelier.
In her petition, the 47-year-old actress described the 48-year-old Haag as a “narcissist” and requested ₹10 lakh per month as maintenance. Represented by lawyers from Karanjawala & Co., she also asked the court to bar Haag from entering her Mumbai home and sought custody of their three children.
Celina Jaitly and Peter Haag welcomed their first set of twin boys in March 2012. Five years later, she gave birth to another set of twins, though one of the babies passed away due to a hypoplastic heart condition.
The former Miss India and Miss Universe runner-up had also penned a long romantic post on social media for Haag on their anniversary last year.
"14 years ago today Peter Haag flew down to Mumbai for 8 hours only (he had an important meeting the next day) to meet my father and mother. I did not know he asked for their permission to propose to me... That very same night before departure, he proposed to me with a ring," she wrote on Instagram.
She said he proposed to her at the same place where her mother had told her she would find her “right one”.
“She had predicted at the very same spot, on the very same sofa that Peter proposed to me on that : “The wrong one will find you in peace and leave you in pieces, but the right one will find you in pieces and lead you to peace.” Today 14 years later, after many highs and many, many lows, we look back together on all the things that we were destined to endure,” she said.
“Marriage should be above all small bickerings … Marriage should be above everything that makes us human,” she said.
