Former NCB officer Sameer Wankhede moves High Court, sues Ba****ds of Bollywood makers, Netflix for defamation

PTC News Desk: Sameer Wankhede, the former narcotics bureau officer known for the high-profile arrest of Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan in a drugs case, has filed a defamation suit against the newly released web series B**ds of Bollywood*.

The series, directed by Aryan Khan and produced by Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, is streaming on Netflix.

Wankhede’s lawsuit, filed against both Red Chillies Entertainment and Netflix, seeks damages of ₹2 crore, claiming the series tarnishes his image in a misleading and prejudicial manner. He has also requested that the compensation amount, if awarded, be donated to Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital for cancer patients.

The petition further accuses the series of portraying anti-drug enforcement agencies in a distorted and negative light, which, Wankhede argues, could undermine public confidence in law enforcement institutions.

Additionally, Wankhede has objected to a scene where a character raises the middle finger immediately after saying the national slogan “Satyamev Jayate”. He maintains that this act is a grave violation of the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971, making it punishable under Indian law.
