Two big films, one date: Bollywood gears up for a massive clash between Akshay's Haiwaan and Ayushmann's Udta Teer
PTC Web Desk: The Haiwaan movie release date has been officially confirmed as September 11. The film is directed by Priyadarshan and produced by KVN Productions and Thespian Films. It will release worldwide on the same date, setting up a major box office clash in Bollywood.
The Haiwaan movie release date announcement also confirms that the film brings back popular on-screen duo Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan together after many years.
The makers shared the release news on Instagram along with a poster carrying the tagline, “One obsession. One relentless pursuit. One date you’ll want to remember.”
On the same date, Haiwaan movie release date places the film in direct competition with Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan’s upcoming spy comedy Udta Teer, creating a high-profile box office clash.
Veteran filmmaker Priyadarshan, known for films like Hera Pheri, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, and Garam Masala, returns to the thriller genre with Haiwaan. The film also follows his recent collaboration with Akshay Kumar in Bhooth Bangla.
Haiwaan features Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Shriya Pilgaonkar and Saiyami Kher in key roles. The film is reportedly an official Hindi adaptation of the Malayalam thriller Oppam (2016), originally starring Mohanlal.
The film’s music is composed by Pritam, while Sabu Cyril handles production design. Cinematography is done by Divakar Mani. Publicity and marketing are managed by Universal Communications.
Haiwaan is produced by Venkat K Narayana under KVN Productions and Shailaja Desai Fenn under Thespian Films.

On the same date, Udta Teer will also release in theatres. The film stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan in the lead roles and is directed by Akash A Kaushik.
The spy comedy is backed by a strong production team, including Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain. The film marks another collaboration between Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan after their earlier project Pati Patni Aur Woh Do.
The simultaneous release of both films is expected to create a major box office clash in 2026.
