India's oldest living actress Kamini Kaushal dies at 98, she was Dharmendra's first co-star
PTC News Desk: Veteran actress Kamini Kaushal, known as India’s oldest living film actress, has passed away at the age of 98. Reports say she had been facing health problems related to old age.
A family source said that the family is very private and has asked for peace during this time.
Kamini Kaushal was one of the most respected figures in Indian cinema. Over her long and successful career, she acted in more than 90 films. She began her film journey with Neecha Nagar, which won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival in 1946. She later starred in many well-known movies like Shaheed, Nadiya Ke Paar, Shabnam, Arzoo, and Biraj Bahu. Her other famous films include Do Bhai, Ziddi, Paras, Namoona, Jhanjar, Aabroo, Bade Sarkar, Jailor, Night Club, and Godaan.
She also worked in television, and her most memorable show was Chand Sitare on Doordarshan.
Dharmendra's first-ever co-star
A few years ago, he had shared a picture from their first meeting and written, “Pehli film SHAHEED ki heroine Kamini Kaushal Ke saath pehli mulaqat ki pehli tasvir… Donon ke chihron par massart … ikk pyaar bhari introduction (My first meeting with the heroine of my first film Shaheed, Kamini Kaushal.
