Trending: Smriti Irani’s dal-drumstick soup goes viral after Mira Rajput says it helped her treat anaemia

PTC Web Desk: Mira Rajput has shared a simple homemade soup recipe that she says helped her while dealing with anaemia.

Shahid Kapoor’s wife recently posted an Instagram Reel after meeting actor-turned-politician Smriti Irani on a flight. Mira said their conversation reminded her of a soup recipe Smriti Irani had earlier spoken about during an interview.

Mira revealed that she had struggled with anaemia for a long time and decided to try the recipe herself.

Sharing pictures and videos from her interaction with Smriti Irani, Mira said their conversation covered several topics before she remembered the recipe Smriti Irani had discussed earlier.

Mira wrote that the meeting reminded her of a simple soup that she felt had helped her with anaemia.

She described it as an easy recipe made with ingredients commonly found in Indian kitchens and encouraged her followers to try it as part of a nutritious diet.

What goes into Smriti Irani’s soup recipe?

The recipe, earlier shared by Smriti Irani during an interaction with Curly Tales, uses a handful of basic ingredients.

The soup includes:

Drumsticks (moringa pods)

Masoor dal (red lentils)

Onion

Ginger

Tomato

Salt

Spices of choice

According to Smriti Irani, the ingredients can be boiled together before being blended or prepared into a soup. She had highlighted the combination as an iron-rich vegetarian option.

Mira says she had the soup for three months

Mira said she consumed around half a cup of the soup every day for three months. According to her, she noticed a change in her blood test reports during that period.

Calling the recipe “nothing fancy”, Mira said it uses everyday ingredients and can be easily prepared at home.

She also said she decided to share the recipe because anaemia is a common concern among women and can affect people across different sections of society.
