Actor Parineeti Chopra has come out in strong support of her husband, and AAP MP Raghav Chadha, after he advocated for paternity leave to be recognized as a legal right in India. The issue, raised during a recent parliamentary session, has sparked wider public conversation around shared parenting responsibilities.

Raghav Chadha, MP from the Aam Aadmi Party, highlighted the importance of equal caregiving roles for both parents, emphasizing that early parenthood should not be seen as solely the mother’s responsibility. He argued that providing paternity leave through legal provisions would support families and promote a more balanced approach to raising children.

Parineeti Chopra shared a clip of Raghav's appeal and wrote,

"My dearest husband,

You spoke today not just as an MP but as the dad, I see every single day. ???? We have discussed this so many times. ???? How our baby deserves both parents to be present - to the best of their ability. So when you spoke today, it wasn’t just policy. It was built from the way you parent our child ???? the way you show up without being asked, the way you understand that PARENTING IS SHARED, not assigned.

“ Bacche ke paida hone par, keval ek maa ka janm nahi, ek pita ka bhi janm hota hai. ”

There are so many mothers who carry this responsibility alone, often unheard, unseen. Homes where the fathers’ and family support are missing. Today, you brought their loneliness into the Parliament - a room where it truly matters. If this helps even a few parents, especially mothers feel more supported, it will be a win for us. ???? Thankyou for being the dad - and the leader you are. I see it everyday, now India will see it too. Proud of you always, my Ragaii"

For the unversed, Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha got married in 2023 and were blessed with a baby boy in October 2025, to whom they named as 'Neer' inspired from both of their names.
