The upcoming sports action drama Peddi, starring Ram Charan, is set to hit theatres on April 30, 2026. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the film has been in production and recently made headlines following reports of an on-set injury involving the lead actor.

Minor Injury During Action Sequence

According to social media reports, Ram Charan sustained an injury near his eye while filming an action sequence on March 24, 2026. Clarifying the situation, the actor’s team confirmed that he required four sutures, but the injury was above the eye, not on it, and his vision remained unaffected. They emphasized that the incident was minor, and Charan has already returned to shooting.

What Peddi is About?

Peddi revolves around a cricket tournament set against a rural backdrop, blending sports, drama, and high-energy action. The film features an ensemble cast including Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Divyendu Sharma, Jagapathi Babu, and Boman Irani.

Recently, the filmmakers introduced Janhvi Kapoor’s character, Achiyamma, portrayed as a lively, spirited village girl who brings charm and energy to the film. The project is produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru and Ishan Saksena under the banners of Vriddhi Cinemas and IVY Entertainment.

Music and Upcoming Teaser

The soundtrack is composed by A. R. Rahman, with the second single, Rai Rai Raa Raa, recently released. The energetic dance number features high-octane moves by Ram Charan, with Rahman’s voice featured in both Telugu and Tamil. Fans can also look forward to an action teaser titled Kusthi, reportedly set to release on March 27, 2026, coinciding with Ram Charan’s birthday.

Ram Charan’s Recent and Upcoming Work

Ram Charan was last seen in Game Changer, directed by S. Shankar. He is next slated to appear in a film tentatively titled RC17, directed by Sukumar, marking their reunion after the hit film Rangasthalam.

Despite the brief on-set setback, Ram Charan’s quick return to shooting ensures that Peddi remains on schedule for its April 2026 release, keeping anticipation high among fans.
