Dharmendra, fondly called Bollywood’s “He-Man,” stands as one of Indian cinema’s most beloved and enduring stars. His remarkable journey from a small-town boy in Punjab to a legendary actor is a story of determination, talent, and charm. Here’s a look at Dharmendra’s educational background, celebrated film career, major awards and achievements, and impressive net worth — painting a complete picture of this timeless icon of Indian cinema.

Dharmendra’s rise to becoming one of Indian cinema’s most cherished stars was shaped by years of struggle, perseverance, and determination. Long before he became the charming hero of the 1960s and 70s, his life was far from the glitz of Mumbai’s film world.

In a past TV interview, the veteran actor recalled with emotion how he once lived in a garage and worked at a drilling company just to make ends meet. These memories came flooding back when contestants on a music reality show performed Kal Ki Haseen Mulaqat Ke Liye from his 1976 film Charas, reminding him of his humble beginnings in Mumbai.

His final on-screen appearance will be in 'Ikkis', set to release on December 25.
